It seems that the mobile gaming industry is growing fast. We might not need a PlayStation in the near future because we have the latest games with superb graphics and excellent AI right on our cellphones. Well, this might actually not happen but we have to admit that we have some pretty elaborated mobile games.

Anyway an Indian cellphone manufacturer, Spice Mobile has recently released its first mobile phone designed for gaming. The device looks great and it comes with a mini-game controller and with six pre-installed games from which 4 in Java.

Additionally, the manufacturer added the possibility of a great mobile web surfing experience. The Spice X-1 runs Opera Mini, probably the most popular mobile web browser. To all these Spice Mobile also added some interesting features.

The device comes with SMS and MSM support, email, Instant Messaging capabilities a Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP. The entertainment part is covered by and FM radio with recorder, music and video player and 3D surround sound. The internal memory is pretty low, just 23MB but the Spice X-1 comes with a 512 MB memory card.

The handset is equipped with just a 2 megapixel camera with digital zoom and video recording. X-1 has a 2.4 inch TFT display with 240 x 320 pixels and 262 colors. It is a tri-ban GSM connectivity capable cellphone with GRPS. Battery life is pretty interesting too as it has 3.5 hours in talktime mode and 130 hours in standby.
