Sony Ericsson’s GreenHeart Phone is Worth its Name V.J. | , 12:25 après-midi sep. 29, 2008 2008-09-29

Sony Ericsson undertakes another step in producing environmental friendly mobile phones. Its new design looks very promising and it is a product that it doesn’t really affect nature.

The new GreenHeart mobile phone is a biodegradable product, which means that decomposing bacteria found in nature can successfully reduce this phone to soil after it was thrown away.

GreenHeart was announced earlier this week and it still in the phases of a concept phone. But this innovating design may mild the damages that the mobile phone industry does to the environment.

The handset is build from recycled plastic and bio-plastic and uses a Zero Charger. The Zero Charger found here is an experimental model that has a built-in switch which will automatically turn of the phone allowing it to consume just one per cent of the electricity that is normally used for a plugged-in phone charger.

It seems that more and more mobile phone manufacturers take interest in protecting the environment. However, using recycled material also cuts down phone manufacturing costs, as Nokia pointed out with different occasions.
