Samsung i8910 HD available in the UK V.J. | , 10:16 matin mai 21, 2009 2009-05-21

The Samsung i8910 HD has been recently released in the UK by Orange. The handset was once known as the Omnia HD but for some reason the name was changed to i8910 HD.

Perhaps the name change was a good idea, or maybe not. If you ask me, it’s not because it is much easier to remember the name Omnia HD than a numerical name. Anyway, the handset is pretty interesting and comes with some cool features.

According to reports, the handset is the first ever to offer high definition video recording. The user can records 720p footage at 24 fps and the playback can be viewed on a 3.7 inch AMOLED screen.

The phone also comes with an 8 megapixel camera with LED flash and Face Detection, Smile Shot, Blink Shot and Panorama Shot modes. Additionally, the Samsung i8910 HD comes with support for DivX, Xvid, H.263, H.264, WMV and MPEG4, MP3, AAC/AAC+, eAAC+ and WMA videos audio. The handset comes with a 8 GB internal memory.

The Symbian S60 powered Samsung i8910 HD includes built in GPS, a compass, a light sensor and a proximity sensor. The handset is available from orange for free on 40 pounds per month contract for 24 months.
