The world’s largest mobile phone manufacturer is battling with the world’s most successful handset yet released. In response to Apple’s product, Nokia now releases the N96 in an effort to steal some potential customers.

Apple’s iPhone is without doubt the world’s most successful handset released. It sold in record high numbers and the new software releases especially made for the iPhone continues to bring more customers to Apple.

Nokia maintains its position and the leading mobile phone manufacturer with some new devices added to the N-series. One of them is the splendid N96 which will be released in India to counter the upcoming iPhone availability in the country.

The Nokia N96 comes with a 2.8 inch screen, microSD cards, a video player that supports MP4, Flash and WMP. To this the Finns have added a brilliant 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and capture DVD-quality at 30fps.

Additionally, the handset incorporates WLAN and HSDPA support as well as integrated A-GPS with geo-tagging capability. It comes with 8 or 16 GB internal memory expandable through the mentioned microSD card. The handset is also made for video and TV viewing and integrates a DVB-H receiver enabling the user to watch live TV broadcasts.

The Nokia N96 will be available in India starting September, but if you really want it you can pre-book it at any of Nokia’s outlets in the country. The Nokia may cost about Rs 30,000.
