I have a Cingular SIM card (got it just before the merger.) My phone is from O2 mobile. I know its not a big deal, but I'm wondering why my phone still shows Cingular as the operator name, instead of AT&T ??

since u say, its not a big deal.. then just forget it.. why to worry and if they ask u to change the sim card, why u wanna pay extra money just for the name AT&T?

do 1 thing, just log into your account, suspend it, restore it then it should show att

has nothing to do with firmware ie. sim. if u r in canada, ur phone will display rogers.
Try suspending and restoring your account, it worked for me. i got mine changed over to att
up

I have to look for this so that later it will be beneficial in terms of everything. I have to look for the best so that later it will be beneficial getting the servces appropraite.
